SOE Initiation: Jesus Moves Powerfully in Marseille

After four intensive weeks of training, the students of the School of Evangelism were sent out. The SOE initiation consists of two weeks of sharing the Gospel every day, all day long.

Whether one-on-one or through public proclamations at strategic locations throughout the city, His name was lifted high, and Jesus moved powerfully in Marseille.

Mission on every street corner.

The students, divided into several teams, went out into the Vieux-Port, the square in front of Saint-Charles station, and the city’s public squares. The Prado walls became platforms from which they boldly proclaimed the Gospel outside the metro stations.

Meanwhile, the benches along La Canebière were transformed into places of divine encounters. In every street, the students shared their testimonies, touched hearts, and demonstrated the power of the name of Jesus.

As the message spread, the Kingdom of God tangibly drew near to the people of Marseille in their everyday lives.

Being immersed in action makes everything more natural and fluid. There is less room for doubt, and we dare more. And by daring more, we clearly see so much more! It was the first time I had ever dared to pray for a visually impaired person to recover their sight. And Jesus, faithful as always, showed up. — Jordan, student.

Just like in the book of Acts, but in 2026.

Among the many powerful moments, the encounter with a visually impaired young woman deeply impacted many people.

The group was about to leave the Vieux-Port to head into the nearby streets when Jihanne walked by with a friend guiding her.
Suffering from glaucoma, she could only make out vague, dark, blurry shapes. In her right eye, she saw a white spot; in her left, a black spot.

After a first prayer, there was no visible change, but the young woman encouraged us by explaining that she had felt something like electricity in her eyes.

We prayed again, and the breakthrough came. Her sight improved once, and then again. Little by little, a crowd gathered around the scene. While some were praying, others were praising Jesus, and others were sharing the Gospel with passersby who stopped, wondering what was happening.

And then… Jihanne, her voice filled with surprise and emotion, confirmed: “I can see much better with my left eye!” Cries of joy broke out, and we could clearly see that the spot on her left eye had completely disappeared.

When asked who had healed her, this young Muslim woman declared before the crowd: “It is the Lord, it is Jesus who healed me!

Some figures from these two weeks.

One thing is certain: Jesus is alive and He is still at work today! His faithfulness, together with the zeal of the students, led to many beautiful moments. Over the two weeks of this initiation period:

  • 4,159 people heard the message of the Gospel.
  • Among them, 117 people made the decision to follow Jesus.
  • 28 healings were observed.
  • 7 deliverances took place.
  • 35 people received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The SOE clearly marked a turning point in my life! Through the various teachings and all the moments we shared together, I was able to grow in my faith. The field outreaches gave me confidence, and I was able to see that God acts with faithfulness and goodness when we trust Him. — Ruben, student.

An investment for eternal fruit

In short, this SOE equipped those who are ready to be sent out. The price paid by each student is now reflected in their ability to lead a local team, organize an outreach, or structure an evangelistic project.

And God confirmed how much He loves Marseille, and more broadly, the love He has for each one of us. It is a true blessing to see His hand at work in the daily lives of those who seek Him and those who need Him.

We give thanks for these foundations that have been laid and for these transformed lives. These students are not leaving with knowledge alone, but with a burning fire. And all the people they encountered are now being followed up locally; some have even been baptized since.

We rejoice to see the fruit that God is causing to grow, and also what He will continue to do through the obedience of this new generation of fire-filled evangelists—for His glory alone.
