SUMMER’O 2024 : Proclaiming and multiplying together (2/2)

‘OH HOW WE MUST PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL, OH HOW WE MUST SHARE THIS GOOD NEWS!’

SUMMER’O 2024 is drawing to a close ! We have seen the hand of God on both the camp participants and the people of Marseilles who, every evening on the Old Port, have heard the Gospel proclaimed both in person and through powerful shows! It was in unity and with one voice that we spoke of this light, which, coming into the world, enlightens every person. Back to the figures :

  • 55 decisions to follow Jesus
  • 27 healings
  • 15 deliverances
  • 9 baptisms in the Holy Spirit

Read some of the testimonies of our participants :

Thomas Bayle – A person gets out of his wheelchair !

‘We got to experience some incredible things! It was so good! I was able to experience healing in the name of Jesus. One person was in a wheelchair, and I was able to talk to him about Jesus and the fact that he could heal him. She had leg pain, cysts and osteoarthritis and she was able to get up in Jesus’ name after several prayers. It was just incredible to see how Jesus healed her. We were also able to share the Gospel on several evenings, mentioning the name of Jesus and what he did on the cross, and that touched a lot of people. It’s also where we see that the harvest is ready to be reaped and how much we need to proclaim the Gospel, how much we need to share this good news. It’s good news that touches so many people, and it’s good news that has a powerful effect on their hearts. So I encourage you to do it too, to do SUMMER’O, so that you can learn, be trained and then practise too!

Thirtsa Lecoeur – God encourages, strengthens and builds up his people !

‘On the second day, my daughter and I prepared drawings to give out in the street. We wanted them to be a tool to give a word or to break the ice with someone and tell them about Jesus. We went round the Old Port to see who we could give them to, and by the evening we only had one left. We’d already seen her the day before, so we thought we’d go and see her. It was a very simple drawing: leaves of green grass with a bird and the verse I felt with it was: ‘Birds neither sow nor reap, they gather nothing into barns, and your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth so much more than them?’ When I gave her the drawing, her eyes were a little watery and she said, ‘Wow, this morning I was at the dentist’s and I was looking out the window at the birds and I thought of that verse!’ It really touched her to see God reaffirming this word to her.’

Gabriela Guihot – God uses children | SUMMER’O Kids 2024

‘It was during Mission School 2023 that I was really able to learn more about my calling. I wasn’t supposed to do it, but God led the way and I knew that my call was to evangelise to children, but also to train them in evangelisation. In my head, I had to look after the children on the one hand and evangelise on the other, but the School mission really made me realise that I had to mix the two. After a year in Marseille where I was able to start the mission, everything I learnt at Mission School 2023 I was able to put into practice this summer by leading SUMMER’O Kids. We planned 6 months in advance, so I had plenty of time to exercise my leadership skills. I thought about the vision with my whole team at meetings and I wrote out all the sessions to give the leaders a framework. One of the moments that made the biggest impression on me was when I was able to experience God’s love for a child as I prayed for the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Also, during one of the first sessions, one of the challenges was to go and pray for someone and one of the children voluntarily chose to go and pray for someone he didn’t know. It’s just beautiful to see how God uses children.’

Malïa Reichor (7) – ‘It’s about saying “Jesus created you”… | SUMMER’O Kids 2024

‘I shared the story of a little boy who represents Jesus and his boat, and the boat is us. It’s about saying ‘Jesus created you’… When I finished, I said to myself that I could have done better because I said to myself ‘I’ve done it’, but then I wanted to do it again! Because at the beginning I was speaking softly, but now I wanted to say ‘HELLLLLLO MARSEILLE! There’s a lady who raised her hand to give her life to Jesus. It’s important to do that for Jesus, he’s my dad’.

A look back at the CHRISTival :

Above all, we wanted to be able to keep in touch with all those who had made the decision to accept Jesus into their lives. So ways were put in place for us to connect with them. To do this, the CHRISTival evening enabled us to make initial contact, as many of the people with whom we had spoken on the Old Port of Marseille were invited to this evening. And it was in the local church where the group Worship Revolution from Austria set hearts on fire for Jesus. So much so that we were again able to see people make the decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour !
